Pay Information $2,169 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Multi Care Unit / ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights EOW Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Dysrhythmia exam must be passed within two attempts before signing contract. - At least 2 years of ICU experience required. - Ability to titrate drips is necessary. Description: The Multi Care Unit provides care for patients across multiple acuities. The unit accommodates 10 beds and has varying patient-to-nurse ratios based on acuity levels. Staff is expected to manage ICU patients at a ratio of 1:2, PCU patients at a ratio of 1:4, and MST patients at a ratio of 1:5-6. In the absence of nurse aids, nurses may take 3 patients and provide primary care for PCU and MST patients. Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, suicide attempts, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, respiratory arrest, pneumonia, DKA, and post-operative complications. Nurses are responsible for monitoring patients using bedside cardiac monitors and must take 12-lead EKGs. Remote Monitor Technicians support the monitoring of PCU and MST patients. Staff may be required to float to different units to maintain competencies across a variety of patient types. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, and holiday rotations will be scheduled fairly. If census is low, staff will rotate standby duties as needed. Scrub colors are flexible, except for camouflage.
