Pay Information $2,169 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Multi Care Unit / ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights EOW Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Dysrhythmia exam must be passed within two attempts before signing contract. - At least 2 years of ICU experience required. - Ability to titrate drips is necessary. Description: The Multi Care Unit provides care for patients across multiple acuities. The unit accommodates 10 beds and has varying patient-to-nurse ratios based on acuity levels. Staff is expected to manage ICU patients at a ratio of 1:2, PCU patients at a ratio of 1:4, and MST patients at a ratio of 1:5-6. In the absence of nurse aids, nurses may take 3 patients and provide primary care for PCU and MST patients. Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, suicide attempts, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, respiratory arrest, pneumonia, DKA, and post-operative complications. Nurses are responsible for monitoring patients using bedside cardiac monitors and must take 12-lead EKGs. Remote Monitor Technicians support the monitoring of PCU and MST patients. Staff may be required to float to different units to maintain competencies across a variety of patient types. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, and holiday rotations will be scheduled fairly. If census is low, staff will rotate standby duties as needed.
