Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 hours (23:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN License Certifications: BCLS, NRP required Must-Have: EPIC preferred Level 2 nursery experience preferred Description: Locals accepted. 3x8 shifts from 11 PM to 7 AM. Will accept 3x12 and 4x12 shifts. Registered Nurses are responsible for labor and delivery, antepartum, and gynecological patients. Common diagnoses include gestational hypertension, diabetes, and multi-birth. Unit procedures include circumcisions, hearing screens, newborn screens, general admissions, C-sections, and inductions of labor. Charge experience is preferred. Patient ratios are 1-3. In-house part-time physicians are available, and others are on-call. The average number of deliveries is currently 140 per month, with an expected increase. Registered Nurses must work 1 Friday, 1 Saturday, and 1 Sunday shift every 4 weeks. Nurses will float between labor and mother/baby or serve as sitters on other units as needed. No call requirements are in place. The unit has a daily census of approximately 20 patients. Equipment includes incubators, warmers, labor beds, software for monitoring, and IV pumps. Interdisciplinary support is available from respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams.
