Description: This position involves working in the general operating room. Types of procedures include Orthopedics, GYN, General Surgery, pediatric dental, and various robotic surgeries. Responsibilities include assisting in procedures for bariatric, urology, and vascular surgeries, as well as Cesarean sections and cataract surgeries. The role includes performing local procedures and utilizing advanced navigation systems for orthopedic surgeries. The department conducts approximately 30 procedures daily. The unit employs EPIC EMR and OMNICELL for medication management. Required skills include the administration and monitoring of conscious sedation and experience with managing malignant hyperthermia. The shift schedule is from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM, three days per week, with call responsibilities as assigned. Maximum response time to a call is 45 minutes, and no call rooms are available on-site. Staffing consists of one nurse and one surgical technologist during evening shifts. The unit includes 13 operating room suites, with capabilities for hybrid procedures and a high volume of cases daily. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:19 during procedures. Scrubs are provided by the organization, and specific footwear for the operating room is required. Training is brief, with a one-day orientation before independent work begins. The facility operates around the clock with support available for staff after hours.
