Pay Information $2,624 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: Valid Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH required Must-Have: Must have Telemetry experience. Must have Intermediate Care experience. Cardiac experience required. Epic experience required. Travel experience preferred. Description: This position offers 3x12 or 4x12 shifts during the day. Shifts are from 7 AM to 7 PM. The unit features a total of 28 beds, consisting of a hybrid PCU/Telemetry unit with 20 telemetry beds and 8 intermediate care beds. Patients include individuals across the lifespan with cardiovascular and medical/surgical needs. The primary patient population includes heart failure, chest pain rule outs, post-cardiac catheterization with and without PCI, and post-device implants such as pacemakers and defibrillators. The staffing ratio is 1 to 4 or 5 during the day and 1 to 5 or 6 on nights. Floating to appropriate units may be required. Patients may be managed on CPAP/BiPAP, antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, antihypertensives, and anticoagulants. The unit may also involve sheath and TR band removal. Candidate will not need to participate in an interview process. Experience in handling COVID patients is necessary. No exemptions or declinations for vaccinations will be accepted. Proper documentation is required for qualifications and skills. This includes but is not limited to accessing ports, managing arterial lines, administering blood products, and interpreting dysrhythmias. Additionally, experience in managing various drips, post-cardiac procedures, and tracheostomy care is critical. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy services, among others. Daily census in the unit reaches up to 28 patients. Patients are typically adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The primary diagnoses include conditions requiring intermediate care and telemetry monitoring.
